3rdofmay: Big day for me today: The new, weekly Modern Art Notes Podcast debuts! My first guest is artist Chris Burden, the artist who created what is almost certainly America’s most popular public artwork: Urban Light (2008, above) at/outside the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Later this fall LACMA will also install Burden’s Metropolis II (2011), which has been something of a viral video hit on the interwebs. Burden is also known for risk-embracing 1970s performance pieces such as Shoot (1971), in which Burden was shot by a friend. You can download or listen to the first MAN Podcast here and you can subscribe via RSS feed here. The show is currently in iTunes’ review process, but it’ll be up there soon.
